Darjeeling & the Brahmaputra by Pandaw rivership – February 2027
17 Nights: Tuesday 16 February – Saturday 6 March 2027
| Twin share per person (ex Auckland) | NZD$15,990 |
| Single Supplement | NZD$2,990 |
The mighty Brahmaputra River, rising high in the Himalayas, flows through the fertile Assam Valley, where UNESCO‑protected national parks, ancient cultures and remote rural communities create one of India’s most extraordinary travel experiences.
Cruising slowly between Guwahati and Goalpara, you will stop at little‑visited historical and spiritual sites, traditional villages and bustling riverside towns rarely seen by travellers.
Wildlife encounters are a highlight. Drift gently through Nameri National Park, rich in birdlife, and enjoy a full‑day jeep safari in Kaziranga National Park.
Assam’s deep and colourful culture comes alive through village walks, silk weaving, tea gardens, ancient temples and onboard performances by local musicians and dancers, brought into context by expert Assamese guides. This journey offers a rare blend of comfort, discovery and genuine adventure — an experience unlike any other in India.
Before you join your magical river cruise, you will have time to explore Kolkata and then head north to Darjeeling. Tucked away in the north-eastern corner of India, Darjeeling is best known for its rolling tea plantations and ‘Toy Train’, which meanders along the precipitous mountain routes of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. Impressive jagged peaks of the snow-capped Himalayas can be seen from town, with Tiger Hill offering astounding views at first light.
