Cycle some of the best that Italy has to offer on this tour, which combines nine days in Austria and Italy followed by a one-week bike & barge tour to Verona and Venice.
Begin in Innsbruck along mainly dedicated bike paths - towards the Festival City of Verona, the setting of Shakespeare's 'Romeo & Juliet'. Throughout the valleys of the Eisack and Adige rivers, numerous old railroad tracks and dam pathways have been converted into modern cycling paths. This lets you enjoy the gorgeous mountain views without worrying about vehicles for most of the ride.
Along the way, the alpine scenery at the 1,370m Brenner Pass will keep you motivated in the saddle, while great cities such as Bolzano and Trento will provide further cultural highlights and welcome places to relax after cycling past orchards and vineyards. When the Mediterranean flora and fauna begin to appear, you'll know you've arrived at Salurner Klause and Italy proper. Ride the new Limone sul Garda elevated bike path, a feat of modern engineering. At night, relax in comfortable hotels and soak up the warm atmosphere of the town squares with a well-earned gelato and a relaxing stroll.
Then board your brand-new barge for a week of cycling in the Italian countryside. You will board your barge in Mantua, the pearl of the Renaissance, and have time to explore this charming historic city. Cycling along the flat terrain of the Po River valley, you will discover small villages, magnificent Renaissance towns and the wildlife reserve of the Po Delta. Island-hopping towards Venice and arriving in this magical city by sea on your barge is something you will never forget, and you will have a full day to explore Venice at your own pace. This is a tour that combines satisfying cycling with a wide range of experiences and fabulous food and is timed for May before it gets too hot in Europe.

Moderate climbing on shorter rides, little climbing on longer rides. Moderate + is quite a bit of climbing. Suitable for bikers with experience over different terrains. E bikes are recommended
