Sri Lanka February 2019

After visiting Sri Lanka Leen Van Duin felt sure that this would be an appealing destination for our travellers because of all it has to offer.  The tour includes fine archaeological treasures and ruins which are among the most ancient of all Southern Asia.  A rich historical legacy left behind by the many seafarers passing the island and later colonial powers.  Wildlife safaris in search of elephants and other wildlife at Minneriya and Yala National Parks.  A journey by train to the heart of Sri Lankan tea country.  City walks and a tuk tuk ride in Colombo and a cooking demonstration and traditional lunch at a tropical village.  Before returning home, there is time to relax with some days at leisure in delightful Galle.  Leen was impressed with the standard of accommodation and food.  Marco Polo considered Sri Lanka “the finest island of its size in the entire world”, Leen thinks you will too!

Leen van Duin is the ideal tour manager for this tour. After 13 years with Air New Zealand, Leen joined Calder & Lawson House of Travel as an Owner/Director where he spent 25 years growing the corporate travel business. Leen is now a Director of Calder & Lawson Tours. Relaxed, caring, and friendly with a quick sense of humour, Leen aims to make his travel companions comfortable and at ease.  From the time Leen and Diane meet the group at the airport, it is clear that every aspect of the trip has been taken care of. Leen and Di visited Sri Lanka to develop this itinerary and they look forward to taking this tour there in 2019.
