Cruising the Red River in Northern Vietnam March 2019

Discover the best of northern Vietnam on a cruise where no other tourist craft operate. Cruising on a small, comfortable Pandaw rivership has become very popular with our clients, especially when there is no single supplement charged for sole use of a cabin. Onboard for ten nights, you will traverse the Red River delta connecting Halong Bay with downtown Hanoi and then follow the river into the interior. The tour begins in Hanoi, visiting homes and markets, practising tai chi and experiencing glimpses of the daily life of the locals. An overnight train trip to Lao Cai takes you into a world of dramatic landscapes, terraced rice paddies, flower and vegetable farms and colourful hilltribes on a Sapa adventure. Here you will encounter a mix of ethnic groups: the indigo clad H’mong and the scarlet hues of the turbans worn by the Red Dao. A leisurely and culturally rich itinerary.
