Russia and the Baltics
June 2021

Turbulent political and social change has shaped these countries.  Discover the history, both recent and past of this region.  Spend a week exploring the now independent Baltic States, with two nights in each of the capitals, Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn. Each city has a charming historic centre as well as burgeoning modern features. Join your river ship, and begin a six-night cruise along the Volga River through lakes, rivers and canals from St Petersburg to Moscow. Daily shore excursions will introduce you to villages and cities off the beaten track, offering insights into daily life in Russia to complement the grand city experiences at either end of the cruise. You will sample the rich cultural heritage of Imperial Russia with three-night stays in luxurious hotels in both the magnificent cities of  St Petersburg and Moscow.

Thank you to everyone who entered our photo competition for 2019. We are pleased to announce the winner of the $500 prize is Jackie Levy for her lovely picture (above) from our Walking in the Greek Islands tour. We thought this had everything –  Greek architecture, blue skies, wildflowers and of course good looking walkers!

Jackie has chosen to donate her prize to Te Omanga Hospice who do wonderful work in the Hutt Valley community. You can learn more about them at www.teomanga.org.nz

We will be running a photo competition again in 2020 with the same prize of $500 towards your next tour or as a donation to the charity of your choice. So keep snapping and we look forward to seeing your great pictures from your 2020 tour.
