Namibia & Botswana
June 2020

Landscapes of outstanding beauty and some of the continent’s greatest concentration and diversity of wildlife make this tour through Namibia and Botswana an unforgettable journey!  Namibia houses the world’s driest eco-system on earth – the Namib Desert, granted World Heritage status in 2013. At Sossusvlei, you visit the sculptural sand dunes where the shapes shift with the wind and the colours alter with the light. Stay at Etosha, where nearly 150 mammal species can be found and spend time at the water holes which exert a magnetic pull on the big game herds. Flying by small plane into the Okavango gives a bird’s eye-view of this fan shaped inland delta with its mosaic of channels and islands. Get up close and personal with the wildlife at Moremi Crossing and Chobe.  Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe is also included.  We have taken this tour many times and it has become a favourite.

America’s South
October 2020

Take a journey into America’s turbulent past following in the footsteps of Dr Martin Luther King. Travel the Civil Rights Trail from Atlanta, Georgia through Alabama and onto the site of his assassination, more than half a century ago in Memphis, Tennessee.  Lovers of music will enjoy visits to the birthplace of rock and roll, Sun Studios, Graceland and the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. While in the South you will see fall colours from a paddle-steamer in Chattanooga. The trip culminates in an exploration of the swamps of the Bayou, a Louisiana Antebellum plantation and the French Quarter of New Orleans where you will learn of the impact of Hurricane Katrina. What sets this tour apart is that much of the history has taken place within your own lifetime and you will see and feel what you have previously only read about. This will be an unforgettable journey into the heart of the South.
