Borneo – Sabah and Sarawak July 2019

There are few places that evoke images of pristine wilderness quite like Borneo, a biodiversity hotspot. Get up close to endangered orangutans, watch green sea turtles come ashore to lay their eggs in the moonlight and see their tiny hatchlings scurry back to the sea. Look for shy pygmy elephants by riverboat, be enchanted by hornbills and proboscis monkeys and visit spectacular bat caves and rock formations. This tour will particularly appeal to those with an interest in the natural world, but Borneo also has a rich and varied history, a vibrant mix of Malay, Chinese and indigenous cultures, excellent infrastructure and great food. While visiting the rainforest you will stay in luxurious jungle lodges with expert naturalist guides. Kevin Palmer led our 2017 tour and will be back to revisit the highlights of his last trip plus some new experiences to give you the best that Borneo has to offer.
