Bhutan is famous for its economic growth model, Gross National Happiness. During this tour, you will explore Bhutan’s centuries old traditions and unique way of life based on Himalayan Buddhist beliefs. Days will be filled with unforgettable sights. Starting in Thimphu where you have two days to explore the charming capital, you then venture to Bumthang. You will arrive in time for a tsechu (festival) where masked dancers in brilliantly coloured silk costumes will intrigue. You then set off on a three day cultural walk and may encounter endangered black-necked cranes. One of the highlights of the tour is a visit to Paro’s Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) clinging to a rocky cliff. This tour is an active adventure involving walking and for those who want, a short bike ride and rafting, and a chance to try the national sport of archery. If you are interested in a rich culture, distinctive architecture, traditional arts and crafts, majestic scenery and most of all, insights into one of the happiest places on earth, Bhutan has it all!
