Launched in 2000, Walking Tours is a small but growing tour group range, complementary to Calder & Lawson Travel and Learn. These escorted tours were introduced after a number of our clients asked us for leisurely small group walking tours to allow them to explore country-sides and meet local people.
Designed with the retired Kiwi in mind, although adults of any age are more than welcome, all of our walking tours are accompanied by well trained and experienced tour group leaders and local guides.
We offer two types of escorted Walking Tours…
Walk and explore attractive and contrasting areas of a particular country. Spend a week each in three well appointed and comfortable country hotels chosen as appropriate bases. No need to pack and unpack each day. Enjoy daily easier or harder walks – your choice – all in the company of local experienced and English speaking leaders. Transport is used to take you to the start of and from the end of, many of the day walks. An ideal tour for partners or friends with different standards of physical fitness.
Again, these escorted tours allow you to explore contrasting areas of a country or region, but this time moving on more frequently with a focus on the gourmet cuisine specific to your place of travel. Stay in small, comfortable, often family-owned hotels; minimal personal handling of packs or bags. Enjoy fantastic scenery and sample the varieties of cuisine and wine in each region
